NMGC my predictable friend is doing its usual Deja Vu. Here I am waiting in the sideline with my internets profits looking to buy my reliable NMGC friend.

What price will I buy this time? Will this baby go to 11. Doubtful.

My entry price will be 2-3 weeks before earnings are due. Anyone know the exact earnings date?

Synapsid - Looks like you are correct, Compaq listing Direct 3D in their announcement threw me. However, it is clear in looking at all these new notebook announcements that Neo's 256-bit chip is being adopted heavily in new designs. That is an encouraging sign from a margin standpoint.

Core logic with integrated graphics is certainly the direction that the low-cost desktop market seems to want to explore. How much this approach is ultimately adopted in the mobile market may partly hinge on how well it works out in the desktop segment. My understanding is that chipsets with integrated graphics for the desktop have been around for several years but have not really caught on - yet. The fact that discrete solutions have become so cheap has probably derailed this approach somewhat. Intel heading in this direction with their Whitney chipset may give the approach more credibility. We shall see. There is more value added in a Neo chip than just graphics, keep in mind. Like audio and DVD support.

Meanwhile, panic selling has set in on our little Neo. This appears to be Neo's curse. Selling breeding fear which begets further selling which begets more fear.... Meanwhile, as before, the fundamental story has not changed. Trident's legal maneuver is laughable in its transparency. Between the lines of the press release is the real story that Toshiba is getting cold feet about using a potentially infringing product in one of their designs.

Is the magic turn around day for Neo two weeks before earnings release? That would make this quarter's pivot point tomorrow, exactly two weeks before the earnings release - after the market close on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
