True. And they may have a more legitimate reason in the eyes of the Government. (Piracy issues). But the consumers could revolt in many ways.
And I think they would need to force enabling without also making the ID available on the net. (Privacy groups would get involved otherwise).
Sure is interesting, though. ;-)
