>>I think that Allen Murdock set the unmentionable one "straight" about battery life (RR originally claimed 6 min. life).<<

Alan -

It was someone else (Phillip himself, I believe) who set Elaine straight about the thirty minutes. I set him straight on believing that tests conducted on one specific device have no bearing on other devices. But maybe old what's-his-name believes that only one type of battery system can be used with Clik! drives.

An astute poster on TMF pointed out that the tests Lipo conducted and reported on here were on the WRITE function of the Clik! for digital cameras, and that reading the disk consumes less power than writing to it.

In a portable MP3 player, you'd be concerned about playing time, which involves reading the disk.

PS: Of course, it isn't really possible to set old Elaine straight, because he seems to be incapable of taking in new information once he has made up his mind.
