MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND MINES AND MINISTRY RESPONSIBLE FOR NORTHERN DEVELOPMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 004 JAN 26, 1999 Miller Announces Plans TO Boost Mining Industry** VANCOUVER- A clear process for determining faircompensation when mineral tenures are expropriated for parks is now established under a new mineral compensation regulation, introduced to support the Mining Rights Amendment Act, Dan Miller, Minister of Energy and Mines said today. " Certainty of tenure will secure investor confidence in the mineral exploration industry in BC", Miller told the annual Cordilleran Roundup, the major mineral-industry conferences in Western Canada.
