It may not be a crime to be in the minority when you think you are morally right however it is stupid for a politician to think he will be re-elected if he ignores the obvious will of his constituency.

In no way does this compare with the civil rights movement or the reasons we fought all the wars as Henry Hyde reminded us of. In fact, it is closer to the colonial witch hunts, who were also certain on a moral basis that they were doing the right thing.

You guys are so busy wrapping yourselves in the flag and assuming such a smug superiority that you overlook plain fairness and obvious excess that is clear to 70% of the rest of us.
