Many observers out there are questioning the "differences" between the "new Celerons" and the Pentiums. Some see little other than packaging. Did Intel pull a "Proctor and Gamble"? (same basic soap, but different packaging, different colours and different perfumes added to meet the needs of a variety of markets)? Comments solicited. (g)

In the note you posted I loved Intel's reference to "twice the speed of the fastest mobile processor available a year ago". This leaves them on safer ground than attempting to suggest that their offerings are faster or cheaper than those of their competitors. (g)

Note the pricing,...especially those who do not think there is a price war in progress. Incidentally, I notice that the pricing for the P2-derived chips was not provided.
I agree with IDC's comments (better than initial Celerons, "loss leaders"), (g)
