Re: Zip standard on all Powerbooks

That would be great. I wouldn't want to celebrate until I see Apple's official announcement, though.

Meanwhile, someone was droning on about how Iomega is now locked into an OEM business model, but with fewer and fewer OEMs. Can someone please explain to me what that person is talking about? Is there some shred of evidence somewhere that there are any fewer Zip OEMs than there were at this time last year?

I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't OEM shipments been sequentially larger every single quarter?

Another little note. I can remember someone predicting that Iomega would never make another cent. Since they made 7 cents last quarter, that seems to be wrong.

And for anyone who is worried that the company can't meet 1999 estimates of .33 because of the projected breakeven Q1, look at it this way: the Q1 estimate was 4 cents. If the actual number comes in at 0, then the company has to beat the estimates for Qs 2, 3 and 4 by a total of 4 cents in order to earn 33 cents for the year. How hard could that be? If they lose 2 cents in Q1, they have to beat each of the remaining quarterly estimates by 2 cents.
