My grandmother who recently passed way at the age of 94 worked outside the home more than 30 years ago. She supported herself quite well and did not marry until she was in her 30's. Your hypothesis is faulty. The individual is what matters. JLA

<<The ideals of 30 years ago? Well for one thing JLA the women had virtually no opportunities outside the home which meant a number of bright talented women were forced into marrying dolts like you for financial support. >>

In my family when my mother and father were married 50 years ago each was an equal in the money making department. They had separate incomes and maintained separate banking. Lasted until they died.
