Buenas Ned. You ask good Q's! -- Answers para tu:

>>Do winter-type condition make the ground magnetometer surveys more difficult to perform, and what do they aim to do.<<

It's actually a lot easier. In some areas it isn't possible to do any ground work in the summer. When the ground is frozen, heavy equipment can be used.

The ground mag is done as the final check to locate the drill collar in the best spot.

>>Also, when is the "week" over?<<

Word is that the field crew should be mobilizing within the next 3-4 days, and then drilling should start about a week later. I've discovered the drill permits were actually just received (timely question)!
