I wonder if the rise and fall of amazon (at least my prediction of a fall) would make great a great book one day...there are a few on bre-x...

I cannot believe in my wildest dreams why ebay was up today...look what was announced about the co. on the net...

<<Amazon isnt making any alliances. I've seen about 9 companies in the last week (all of them penny no-name stocks) make announcements that they have entered into a stragegic alliance with Amazon. In every case, it was nothing more than those companies joining the "Amazon associates" program, where you put a link to Amazon on your company's webpage and get a kickback for any books people buy through your site.(snip snip)>>

You obviously failed Marketing 101. Don't you know in order to dominate the marketplace, a company would need to gain as much market share as possible. It doesn't matter if it's .01% or 10% increase from 1 site, as long as AMZN gets more and more visibility and potential buyers.

The Internet is all about eyeballs. Why do you think these Internet companies are valued based on the number of registered users? Don't you think with a captured audience, the chances are higher for a company to pitch their product and make a sale?

Why do you think IBM won out over AAPL? IBM freely licensed their product, where as AAPL maintained tight controls. Guess who has the most market share now? Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.
