Running the risk of the aforesaid rocket attack, I'd like to note that a loving God (or god, if you prefer--equal opportunity) would not advocate slavery, dictatorships. But there can easily be a world of difference between what men (and women) do invoking a cause as their justification and a god whom they purport to worship might advocate.

Whoops! I'm ducking!!!

Bob:

Not true. In Leviticus, god himself supposedly instructs the Hebrews on the proper and improper treatment of slaves. He also outlines how and when slaves may be beaten, even killed.

Is this a "good and moral" god? One that does not issue an 11th Commandment: Thou shall not keep slaves, but instead meticulously instructs how to procure, punish, maim and kill them?

Hmmmmmmmmm?
