Of course. You focus only on those things which support your pea brained world view. I'm sure there were female physicians and car dealers in the 50's as well. The war (WWII) changed a lot of attitudes about the capabilities of women in our society. I'm sure there were sexist men who discriminated against women in the 50's even as there are those types today. My point is that many individuals refused to accept the stereotypes and mores of the day and they did just fine. JLA
