No Ish the discussion came about because I think the far right idealizes the past and blames things like "destruction of the family" for all of societies ills - which is a sort of backlash against some of the additional freedoms gained by women and minorities in the 60s and 70s. The far right wants to go back to the 50s and if you look at their agenda most of it has to do with repealing laws that were imposed in the 60s and beyond (abortion, prayer in school etc). Im sure the 50s were a great time for all those old white men but the rest of us arent really interested.
