Mr. B, Thanks. After reading all that, and more, I'm beginning to feel that MSPG will left to it's own devices concerning broadband. How will MSPG compete if and when the FCC rules to let T keeps it's cable network to itself and RBOCs free of regulation with independent data subsidiaries (RBOC controlled ISPs)? The FCC will have to rule in Ts favor in order to create competition to the RBOCs. The FCC might let the RBOCs have independent subsidiaries as consolatory action in the wake of a favorable T ruling. If you believe the above, then MSPG could be left out.

It's a lot to chew on so forgive me for thinking out loud.

Greg

Mr. Bones,

Cable modems run symmetrically, or the same speeds upstream and downstream over two way HFC. Remember, however that a large percentage of the physical plant of the CATV companies is only one way. What these companies have resorted to is to run HFC downstream, and utilize copper phone lines for the return path. Something of a gap, eh? 10 Mbps down, 56 Kbps up. And not only does the end user have to pay for the cable modem, high speed service and the ISP charge, but they likely are paying the telco for a second line as well.

What a great day for Mspg today. Closed on it's high for the day.
Gota love it. Looks like someone has faith in upcoming earnings
tomorrow after close, besides me.
