Dear Darrell:

You state:
> Your own Democratic Socialist philosophy ...

Sir, I have been a registered Republican for the past 14 years (ever since I became a US citizen). With the exception of 1992 when I voted for Ross Perot, I do not recall any other time that I voted for anyone but the Republican candidates.

However, as of 2 weeks ago I am no longer a registered Republican but an independent. I came to the conclusion that the American Nazi National Party (formerly known as the Republican National Party) no longer represents my political philosophy of fairness, and honesty (as defined by Abraham Linclon who was perhaps the only true Republican ever lived).

You ask:
> Are you a citizen of this country?

Your above question is a perfect example of the proof how much the Republican party has moved to the extreme right! Just because my name is not a typical White, European Christian name, you automatically questioned my US citizenship! You, sir, indeed truly represent the Republican Party of the late 1990's (or as Tom Delay, Bob Barr, Henry Hyde and his 12 dogs, and the rest of the Republicans in the congress and senate would like to call: The American Nazi National Party)!!

Best Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

I have been reading with detached interest the posts on this thread for some time now and quit making comments myself because it seemed such a waste of time. Both sides of this issue are firmly entrenched and neither side seems willing to even consider an opposing view.

However, when someone makes a clearly racist comment I do think it merits being pointed out:

"Btw, Are you a citizen of this country?"

What gives you the right to question Mr. Jamshidi, as to his citizenship? Does his name make you think he is something less than a white purist?

It is this sort of senseless, non-thinking attack that points out what type of person you truly are.
