A spin-off or partial sale of AV, would be consistent with a press conference where no other companies were present. But even using inflated valuation, the net return per share would be between $1 and $2, depending how ridiculous the price is. The only way CPQ could do better than that is if it retained a large portion of the spun-off company and then saw the value of its shares skyrocket, as the new company generated real earnings over the years.
