Jim, If Gateway starts using AMD chips, IMHO, their
prospects are probably not that great---meaning Dell
has got the high end market all locked up.
I am having seconds thoughts on Gateway but not Dell.
Gateway is a consumer PC and may actually want to offer
a very cheap PC to compete with CPQ, HP, IBM. It could
actually be a way to negotiate better prices from
Intel on the cheap Cellerons.
I guess I am having second thought about Gateway but
not Dell.
