sonki, I did not see your post on the CSCO thread ... but I have calmly held my leaps for the past 45-50 points and will exercise to get free shares prior to earnings. Short-term calls will take care of any further upside post earnings.

CPQ ... assessed the technical breakout at 38 and scrutinized the fundamentals and jumped on leaps. You know I trade in and out of a stock and switch into the investment mode when I sense the right ducks are lined up in a row. btw, you did a wonderful job on calling SUNW.

Take care.

One more thing. Mike Burke feels confident that CPQ stuffed the channels to beat earnings estimates this quarter. Ahem, I still await him at the top.

Hello everyone. I have been following your thread for a couple of weeks, and I have found it very useful. I have even paid $60 just to respond. OK, so enough of the ego boosting. I am just starting to invest, I'm interested in trading short term, and I want to learn the best trading strategies and analysis techniques. Right now, I don't have any. I'm basically just looking at stock charts and making a prediction. Of course, I know it's much more complex than that, but where do I start? What factors are most important? I've seen a few posts about bounces. How do you predict a bounce? And what other events can you profit from? I know, so many questions. Well if you can provide me with some information or resources to get me started, whenever I am competent enough to do some proper research, I will contribute whatever I can back to this thread. By the way, my name is Mike.
