Heads up from the Buffett thread on Ralston Purina (RAL) Missed earnings today and dropped 2 points. This one was very interesting even before the drop. In my opinion this is a Buffett-type business (at least the pet food side). There are rumors of a spinoff of the battery business and there is some other interesting stuff on the balance sheet if you take a good look (I don't know if they still have the DuPont shares, but there was also a big holding in Interstate Bakeries last I checked.) I'll try to piece it together tomorrow. Gotta get some sleep. Case has an 8AM conference call tomorrow - they think investors should wake up the same time as farmers. :( JJC
