Tony,

Re: "Yousef, Paul, Kash, Elmer? Hey, notice that if the posters most bitched
about here were to disappear, so would most of the technical expertise?"

Tony, for some people ... "Ignorance Is Bliss"

Tony,

Re: Fab lead-times.

Basically they should be ramped up by Q2 quite easily IF they know what they are doing.

At the conf.call Jerry stated that RAM test vehicle was undergoing qual etc. So test wafers with K7 in Q1 should be expeceted.

Having said that there are MAJOR questions regarding the ramp:

1. This is the First Cu facilty at AMD.

2. The process is brand new.

3. The design of K7 is unproven.

With PERFECT execution we could see K7's out of dresden by Q2 99.

With AMD's history of IMPERFECT execution the AMD naysayers would say Q2 2000.

IMHO, if you SPLIT the difference Q4 99 may be realistic for K7 volumes.

Regards,

Kash

Tony, This is true, and sad. One is curious about tech matters and wants unbiased responses, not engelish spins.
