Excellent article on lithium polymer batteries in this weeks Barrons. Goes to some lengths to point out how many hearts have been broken by this chemistry and how broke some of these companies are. Forgets to mention that lithium is real dangerous stuff to handle and that Sony and others have non-recurring fires regularly. Also no mention of cost per watt hour, or comparison with other chemistries on a cost basis. I say "excellent article" because it made me feel good about my NiMh investments.

In other battery news, ERC has just released their fourth quarter "earnings" and mentions in the report that the Evercel spinoff will happen in February. I continue to watch this as their NiZn technology may be an interesting comparable for how Ovonic might trade were we to do an IPO.

From EV World:

It's been reported to EV World by usually reliable sources that GM's brand
manager for the EV1,

promising start-up company.
Also, Ken Baker, GM's chief of the EV1 project, has left the company and
taken a position at
ECD, alongside side his former boss at GM, Bob Stempel.
