I'm just reading the news. I notice that Ashock Kumar said that CPQ would not spin it off in his Reuters quote, then said they would in his WSJ quote. So he doesn't know either...

I had previously felt that CPQ would do better by keeping AV and leveraging the asset. I don't think they would call a press conference to announce another alliance. So it's either a significant acquisition (not likely) or a spin-off.

One analyst pointed out that if AV had its own stock and the valuations followed other internet offerings, AV could probably acquire or deal with other high fliers more easily than CPQ could directly. Interesting thought, I would think that might be a reason to spin it out.

I would think that if this is well received, then earnings are good, then the analyst call is upbeat, we should see some nice movement. I pretty much agree with victor's position on that.
