LOL! At my age, I don't remember much of that, either.

But, you see, I have a thirteen year old and an eleven year old, so I am already familiar with the phenomena. They are curious, and ask me questions about ancient history, aka my past. They are very interested, for example, in the Berlin Wall. Stuff like that.

But, some of your references are off. Star Wars is still a big draw, they are anxiously waiting for "First Episode," coming this summer, so they have already bought the boxed set of the videos. The special effects are still very good.

Mom still wears hard contact lenses. Soft ones don't last as long, and don't improve vision as well.

They got an Atari from Uncle Dan this past summer, and had a blast playing Pong.

They much prefer for Mom to make popcorn on the stove and use real butter, although they enjoy the freedom the microwave gives them.

BTW, I saw "Patch Adams" this weekend, it takes place 1968-1972, and one of the key scenes involves a character receiving a call on an answering machine, towards the end. I thought, I never saw one back then, but I couldn't remember when they were introduced.

43. They always had personal computers.
44. They have never seen punch cards and ticker tape.
