Employees Halt Work At LG for Second Day
Bloomberg News
SEOUL - Production at LG Semicon Co., which makes about 7 percent of
the world's computer memory chips, was halted for a second day Monday
by employees opposed to the company's takeover by Hyundai Group,
raising the possibility of a chip shortage.
An LG Semicon spokesman said 80 percent of the company's 7,500
workers handed in their resignations to back demands for at least five years of job security after LG is taken over by Hyundai. The spokesman said he did not know when production would resume.
