Bill, The SEC cannot force me to divulge anything that I don't know. The annual reports and other press releases in 1997 state that the details of cross-licensing and royalty agreements is confidential. In this area one must hold their cards close to their chest. In any case, SmartMedia sales (which I suspect were substantial given the success Olympus, Fuji and the Rio! has experienced) do not appear to correlate with any substantial increase in SanDisk royalty revenues suggesting either a flat rate or no royalties whatsoever from Toshiba.
