One of the people that I got to meet in LV was a fellow by the name of Drew Connelly. He is a large shareholder in rdim. He spoke in rebuttal to Jeffrey henken's comments of si members beta testing the demo site and how si members would make excellent potential members for rdi buying clubs. Drew obviously has a disdain for message boards. He spoke of a meeting he had with the sec fraud unit and their ability to monitor the boards and of how he has seen small startup companies held hostage to a tick by tick movements, false info spread thru the boards and the general abuses brought on in these types of forums. These abuses ultimately lead to a sec investigation which has the effect of setting a company back six months irregardless if they are innocent or guilty. His comment that stands out to me was "We are not interested in attracting the daytraders, the flippers, we want the long term investor that will be present at the annual meeting this year and in the future years". Kind of lends credibility to Jeffrey's comments about the float going into stronger hands. There isn't much in the float and I am sure that there were people at the conference that could buy it all. Personally, I've tried dt'ing with diastrous results. I tried momentum trading, not much better. I am now trying long term investing and that seems to be working much better. The verdict is not in yet for I am new to individual investing and so far my longest term hold is 8 mos. 1 month shy of when I decided to enter the equity market and I would not consider a holding of 8 months to be long term. In the last 9 months I have meet a friend on another board with much more experience than I, and successful experience I might add, who says that when making a decision to enter a position, 1) make sure you are right. 2) sit tight. My trip was hard on me, I left on a moments notice after working a full day, drove 300 miles and then attended without sleeping the prior night and with a lingering cold. To me that was a cheap price to determine whether I was right. Now I intend to sit tight. Steve
