Scumby - Re: " Intel should be putting their cheap transistors to work designing a graphics chip which doesn't rely heavily on any CPU math instructions, "

Intel is doing just that.

It will be a gift from the Holy Land.

Re: " I can imagine the politics involved with being a graphics designer for Intel."

I hear that politics at 3DLABS is one of the main reasons for your product slippages - so I guess you are eminently qualified to speak on that subject.

<Like a 4 way superscalar PII which runs slower than a 2-way MII.>

Wow, a 2-way Cyrix MII system can beat a 4-way Pentium II system? Where can I get such a kick-butt multiprocessor 2-way MII system? Maybe we should call Dell, Compaq, Sequent, IBM, HP, and all the other companies out there making Xeon servers and tell them that a 2-way MII system is faster than a 4-way Xeon solution!
