I have been receiving a number of private mails asking me to update the senders on my position after Sun's announcements yesterday, and with apologies I dont have the time to respond to them all individually (never knew what I was letting myself in for when I started all this), so I'll respond here, if that's ok? The latest round of discussions here, have I think, established beyond doubt the technical merits of the Insignia product. What has also been proven conclusively, is the size and scope of the marketplace they now address, added to as it has been, significantly, by yesterdays announcements. Another accepted fact is that Insignia have a significant part to play in this new market and its demand for the "virtual" approach. As to the Management and operation of the company being sufficiently "World Class" to successfully exploit these new opportunities, the thread is 50-50 on this and some have expressed doubts and the difference of opinion is fair reflection of a "PHOENIX" rising from its ashes....So I'd say the jury is out for now, until the results start coming through next quarter (this one past will only be marking time!). For myself, I have already stated in an earlier post, why I like the company, so I wont repeat myself here... Suffice it to say, I was not expecting anything for Insignia directly, out of Sun's announcements yesterday, other than an endorsement of the marketplace in which Insignia now finds itself, and similarly of the marketing strategy, and technology direction they have chosen to take. If you believe in Sun's new strategy, you have to believe in Insignia!!! I remain convinced of the value of my investment(considerable), and I expect to be rewarded over the next few months. The average line of your questions seems to be..Should you all go, or should you stay? If your decision was based on a "pop" for the share yesterday, or if yours' is a short term investment, or you are simply a "shorter", then GO! There is nothing I can say to advise anyone who has that investment strategy....I know not how to make (only lose) with that approach, and I congratulate anyone who can...clearly some can judging by the way profit was quickly taken at 6 3/4 last week. To those who are medium to long, I can say that the one very encouraging trend on this thread is the "Long Suffering Insignia Shareholders" in since the company's inception, and now thinking, not only of "Not Selling" their shares but of "Buying More"!!!! They are, in the main, a highly intelligent, technology conversant, and marketing aware group....and that I find very encouraging!!! That's all I have to say except to answer a final question put to me, i.e. "What is my bottom line?".... "TIME TO MARKET" Those manufacturers who want to keep up with the opportunities presented by Sun and other marketmakers in todays challenging world, with its almost daily "Quantum Leap" syndrome, simply have to get the product from concept to reality quicker. It all starts with embedded systems programming and they have no choice but to use the fastest, most efficient and cheapest methods of achieving these objectives. The general trend of opinion (I see) among all those who own INSGY long term, or who have recently bought in, is that INSIGNIA are well placed to take a significant slice of their market, with dramatic effects on the value of their company.....I am biased...I happen to believe that they are right, but that the whole scenario, as presently painted, is wholly UNDERSTATED!!! In for a penny, in for a pound!!! The IrishNostraDamus!!!
