Ok folks don't want to beat this one up too bad, went back and listened
to the conference call again. Getting over the issues that were
distracting ( the guidance for Q1 and reorganization ) allows for a
better appreciation for the quarter.

The main man is going to do double duty by taking the reins of the sales staff and assuming the Executive VP of Sales, I commend the effort. I feel comfortable with the importance that Jodie has put on sales by personally driving them himself. This not only puts his personal reputation on the line but heightens the accountability and urgency of the entire sales staff.

The functional structure will save redundancies by having the need for fewer kings and supporting staffs in each of the previous empires. My personal experience in the Ivory Towers of Corporate America revealed how easy it is to put up fences and create turf disputes despite what may be in the best interest of the company. I view these reorganizations as a big plus. The major reason stated for this change is to enhance sales.

There was a question in my mind as to what they bought with SyQuest and if they would have the right to supply disks.
Well they will have the right to provide media to the installed base. I would hope that they would accelerate the effort to ramp production. Again wish to extend my thanks to the Rocker crowd for helping to grow that base.

They have a lot on their plate and Jodie sounds like a very strong, forthright personality . IMO this is a lot more exciting company than we had 6 months ago.

Don't want to offend anyone but I am kind of hoping that the stock price momentarily goes down so I can pick up more.

I recommend that all listen to the conference call again.

IMHO there are two major advantages of using Clik! over flash cards.

1. Clik is "cross platform" the Clik! drive could be used for PDAs, laptops, cameras, etc. This spreads the cost of the hardware over several "appliances", making it even more cost competitive than flash.

2. Even though flash card capacity is getting lower it does not give you the option of "putting $10 disk in your pocket". Use up 96 mb of disk that's $300, want another 96 mb another $300....5 Clik! cartridges are only $50, that is 1/10 the cost of the flash card option.

On another note, Buy.Comp had a full page ad in yesterday's WSJ. The feature item at the top of the page was a USB Zip for $119.95.
