Party! You are deserting your constituents when you say <<I can't wait till ecommerce begins closing down the malls>> Will you then have the time for the helpful, friendly human clerks and sales staff, each of whom is a member and integral part of the fabric of your community, and their families, whose jobs have been displaced to cheaper central warehouses near Fedex hubs in Tennessee and Texas ... or do you expect that they will be cheerily selling popcorn at your grey set slo-pitch games? No, the coming displacement, if it happens, will not be pretty ... it may happen, but it is not for me to wish for or hasten it ... that is why I advocate use of the Amazon site as a research tool, while at the same time buying the researched book from my local storefront merchant with a smile and a how-de-do about her kids ... am I in the vanguard of an early net counterculture? Next I may comparison shop at BFL, or better, at some site which carries multiple brands in each product class, check out all the brand specs and so on without burdening the sales staff of my local shops, who can't possibly keep up with the blizzard of changing products, and then buy from the local merchants with their handy return policies at my doorstep ... better than trying to stuff that insulation back in the carton and shipping it to Warehousia, Ut.
