David, yeah, actually I have quite a bit more VLSI than LSI, though I intend to hold the LSI position. Very simplistically, to me VLSI should trade at 2/3 of LSI's price, based on expected earnings for the two, three years out (about $3 for LSI, about $2 for VLSI).. Also, I get the feeling that VLSI has a better chance of suprising on the upside because folks who understand some of their capabilities in support of telecom have so advised me.
Current price for VLSI should be around 16, on a value basis...just as a "This is mho"..

I like VLSI too, for the value. But, baring a good general semi move, I suspect VLSI will not move by itself but LSI might. Stein predicting 2 flat Qs will probably cause the stock not to move unless something else changes. Just hope that Corrigan will say something better, otherwise I look LSI to drop back a little. But if Corrigan has better things to say for next 2 Qs, I can see the stock keep moving up to ~$30.

Translated, to me VLSI next 3 months is known factor - flat. LSI on the other hand might be a nail-biter for the rest of week until earnings and most importantly, cc.

Lastly, by also most important to me as a long term investor - VLSI has got too much sales from just one customer, and I don't like that. If I were to buy into VLSI, I'll watch it like a hawk. LSI, on the other hand, I dare to buy and 'forget'.

David, VLSI doing a lot of "consolidating" around that 12 1/2 level
which is more evident on a 60-min chart:

Seems similar to what LSI is doing just under 24.. Must be some heavy selling around those levels for the two stocks...?
