Mark,

I don't want to take this to far as I don't really have a problem with the company's action. But the be very technical, there was intent. Not all gains are price oriented. The benefit of the hype can also be to buy time. In this case I heard a lot of rumours of concern regarding an attempt by certain shareholders to bring Johnson/Lett into control. After the announcement that effort appears to have died. So if this is 'hype' then the benefit was that management got more time to pursue their plan.

To me it is very black and white. If it's hype, it's hype. It doesn't matter if it is well intentioned and the goal was not to effect the price. It's not just about price.

I find our relative positions on this fascinating. Who would guess that you are a Democrat and I am a Republican? :)
