A few questions on stop loss orders for listed stocks:

1) If you enter a stop loss order at 50, does it become a market order as soon as the bid drops to 50, or does there have to be a print at 50?

2)Say your stop loss order is at 50, the bid is at 50 1/16, and there is a print on some secondary exchange at 49 7/8. Does the stop loss order become activated? or does the print have to occur on the nyse?

3)When a stop loss order is activated, what is its priority in relation to other market orders or marketable limit orders that arrive before and after the stop is activated?

Thanks Steve!

Grn

>>I have no qualms about not being everything to everybody.<<

Actually I think you are doing it right, I would hate for you to get bogged down with a lot of scalpers or very short term traders that the service will go the way of the online brokers. If they wanted to scalp they can use datek. Which is the only one with resonable commisions that this is possible. I mean when you are scalping for 1/8, and pay more than half in commision, with paying the spread, how else could it be done?
I am sure you cna use mbtrader real tick to do scalping but the commisions are high too.

I guess what I am really trying to say is, I would hate to see yamner go the way of the high vol scalp traders and not be able to handle the orders of their clients who choose them just cause it is much harder to make scalp trades with yamner. I want yamner to be there the few times an year when I want to buy or sell. And I want to tlak to someone I am sort of familiar with. Maybe you can set up an online site which scalpers can use like the other online services.

So this has nothing to do with me being a scalper or the outlook from a scalpers point of view :> it has to do with I am tired of using services used by scalpers choking up the system and making me miss making investments or not be able to get out of a trade thats going real bad and end up loosing a lot of money.
