Interesting position. But, Intel is far from dead and is still considered the dominant manufacturer of processors. The real question is cost of manufacture/Mhz. (I know little about chip fabrication...you might be able to help me there.) Are Intel's competitor's fabrication processes more cost effective or are they willing to live with tighter margins? That is, what is the underlying reason for lower prices. You see, you could say the same about buying something on-line versus going into the store. Buying on-line is cheaper...but the reason it's cheaper is because the underlying administrative costs are reduced.
