Wow..ITEC did anyone get in for the gap on that one.. For some of you conservation players out there consider BZH earnings about to come out definitely some anticpation there. Building companies are beating estimates hardily and should start to move. If you like upside potential and little downside risk I think some of those builders like KBH, CTX, LEN and BZH should be considered. Gang consider your longer term holdings from the results of these earnings plays like BZH and KBH. The market will have to acknowledge these earnings and they really look good. (CTX), which builds homes, originates mortgages and provides contract construction, said third-quarter revenues for its conventional homes business rose to $58.1 million from a year ago while revenues from its manufactured homes-operations rose to$39.8 million from last year. Total home-building revenues for the latest third quarter rose to $711.2 million from a year ago. Revenues from Centex's contracting and construction services business had third-quarter revenues of $335.2 million, up 36% from a year ago. Home sales for the third quarter rose to 3,610 units from last year while the backlog of homes sold, but not closed at Dec. 31, including 214 units from Calton Homes, totaled 6,419 units. Centex said favorable interest rates for the first nine months of fiscal 1999 continue to "positively" impact the company's home sales and mortgage applications. Centex also said its home building and financial services operations are on track to report "record performances" in 1999. Also, the company expects its contracting and construction services business to continue with "strong" results while its Centex Construction Products Inc. (CXP) unit is positioned to post "record" results for the year. Centex Corp. said fiscal 1999 earnings will improve "significantly" over fiscal 1998 results.
