Just checked out books.com

After Barnes & Noble and Amazon, books.com looks a bit boring. However it did find the books I had been looking for.

The prices seem to be consistently 5 cents (!!!) below B&N and Amazon. I don't see that as a big enough difference and the others are easier to search.

However, booksamillion.com beats them all in price. And for a $5 membership you get another 10% off. That makes a bigger difference.

Be that as it may, I think the biggest problem for CD has been an almost total lack of visibility for its on line business. They have had one of the first on line shopping malls in Netmarket, they run auctions and surplus sales on Everything4less, and they have a book site competitive with Amazon & B&N. Why then aren't these being promoted as aggressively? It would be nice to get even a fraction of Amazon's or EBay's valuation!
