The EMC CEO said: 1. Storage software was their strongest revenue sector, up 175% 2. EMC is the fastest growing major software company 3. Being first into a new market is critical and can get 50% of sales 4. EMC expects to grow in '99 at same rates as '97 & '98 (40-50%) 5. EMC's major clients are done with their Y2K work, by and large and Y2K matters should not depress normal technology expenditures. Bill Griffeth was the interviewer. He mentioned Fibre Channel while reading from the EMC press release, but did not discuss it.
