Chief,

I am surprised by your comments about RIM!! As a soon to be University of Waterloo graduate, I am truly shocked to hear you talking about RIM as if it is some short-sighted company that will fail to move forward as technology continues its ever-quickening advance....

Although I can't say it for sure, I would be surprised if RIM doesn't have *many* other projects in the works. I would expect them to be industry leaders... not followers! One thing that can be said about Canadian high tech companies is that they understand the importance of being market leaders and innovators! I also happen to believe that UofW brain-power is some of the best out there! (why do you think Microsoft grabs so many of our grads)

From what little I have heard about RIM (that they are in Waterloo, and likely have many UofW grads involved with them)... it is my patriotic duty to believe that they will lead the industry... not follow... (... which naturally means that an American company will come along and take them out in the future... *grin*)

Chad

Note: All of the above is drivel motivated by feelings of patriotism towards the University that I have poured so much money into over the last 5 years. I know nothing about investing, placing a value on a public company, or even RIM for that matter. For all I know RIM has 3 employees, 2 of which are actually chimpanzees who randomly punch buttons (any buttons will do).
