Brilliant Digital Entertainment's Digital Projector Passes 100,000th Internet Download Milestone

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 26, 1999-- Brilliant(TM) Digital Entertainment, Inc. (AMEX:BDE - news; multipathmovies.com), a leading interactive entertainment content and tools developer, today announced that in the approximately two months since its Internet release, 100,000 copies of its Digital Projector(TM) have been downloaded from the World Wide Web.

Brilliant's Digital Projector is a proprietary software tool that works within leading web browsers, Microsoft's Internet Explorer (versions 3.2 and up) and Netscape's Navigator (versions 4.0 and up), to display, in real time, full screen, 3-D, digitally animated, interactive content developed using Brilliant's own software tool set. Visitors to Brilliant's web site currently are installing Digital Projector's into their browsers at the rate of approximately 3,500 units per day.

After downloading the Digital Projector, visitors can view Brilliant's 3-D animated Multipath(TM) Movie episodes and Webisodes(TM) (shorter duration versions) on their PCs. Brilliant's site currently offers selections from high profile characters such as Xena, Popeye and Ace Ventura, as well as Brilliant's Gravity Angels and Cyberswine. Episodes based on Superman as well as KISS-Immortals, based on the legendary rock group KISS, will follow this year. Visitors can subscribe to receive Webisodes, free of charge, during a four-week trial period after which time quarterly subscriptions to receive weekly Webisodes are available starting at $8.95.
