MYNGA, I think I might hold off on the short. Since seeing your post I have talked to several in the opthalmic business, and they think there are several points to consider. The most important being that the cancer med is really not an issue in the continued profitability of the company.

Wet AMD - leading cause of old folks going blind - is real and I have verified that the "cure rate" being very low is accepted - enthusiastically so - by opthomoligists. (I had two opthalmic surgeons tell me today that a 15% chance of a 40% cure is better by far than a 100% chance of no cure at all)

Further the stuff about the difference in the placebo and test group being low is attributable to the type of treatment. The treatment entails treating the damaged eye with a laser, the med increases the effectiveness of the laser. The cost shown is for the whole treatment.

Lastly the EVP of a opthalmic and nuro surgery instrument manufacturer, who is a close personal friend, says that he thinks that QLT actually has it. His advice was, with FDA approvals being what they are, you might want to wait and see if there is a snag and buy the stock on a huge dip which he does say is quite possible - even probably in the very short term.

Problem is he says if they sail through approval they are probably quite a value now.

He also said that the poster on their board who said that they will have a 2 year lead on competition has to be "smoking something funny".

I decided to just put this on my watch list until I find out more.

Submitted for your aproval.
