Yes it's true.

And the dog really thinks the man is crazy.

There is actually a very funny satire written about the "new man" being created in the Soviet Union in the 1920's by Bulganin called a Dog's Heart. A middle class doctor living in his apartment that he has now been forced to share with a number of strange people as a communal apartment by the Bolsheviks, transplants a dead man's heart into a dog and invites the dog to take up residence in his apartment too. This attempt to uplift the dog proves the ruin of everyone in the building as the dog takes on all of the characteristics of the original heart's owner as well as keeping its own unrestrained appetite. It begins to walk on two legs and develops a taste for young women.

Even as the transformation of the dog continues, and the chaos spreads, everyone tries desperately to pretend that everything is normal since no one wants to leave the warmth of the apartment to live on the street with those who do not have apartments.

Intel investors will put up with anything from Intel. I just want to see the video tape of Andy Grove groveling before Bill Gates. probably as uplifting as the doctor's experiment.
