Concerning the issue of devaluation, here's a response from the company to an inquiry on this thread made last August (#54)

Here is the response I received from Sino-Forest concerning my question about the possible devaluation of the Chinese Yuan.

1. Devaluation is most unlikely.

2. Even if it occurs, we would gain from even lower costs from an already low cost-base whereas the selling price for wood chips would be relatively more stable and less sensitive to devaluation as wood chips is an internationally traded commodity. In other words, our profit margin would even be higher.

3. One more remark, in case you feel interested, our investments in China are invested and booked in U.S. dollars.
