E-bay has me a little nervous. Their rise may bleed over into Amazon if they report neutral earnings.

Hope the Amazon PR machine doesn't throw out too many curves tonight.

Cheers,
Bob

I've heard a rumor from someone at AMZN that the loss will not be as large as expected. Whether that will be taken as a big positive, who knows?

--------

InfoWorld magazine, JAN 25, page 61, mentions a report put out by Marketing Corporation of America (MCA) that estimates that consumers spent a whopping "$8.2 billion on online retail purchases during the 1998 holiday season - almost three times as much as the organizations pre-holiday estimates of $2.3 billion. . . . As anticipated, books were the single most popular item, followed by computer goods, and music and video products."

That's a huge increase over last year - I wonder if Amazon is keeping up or falling behind in this growth? We should know more shortly. The cc starts at 2:30 PST.

I hope so too. I made a few $$ on Ebay, but I couldn't relate, and keep my eyes on the 'Thing'.
I noticed that Cnbc had a pretty bullish 'Thing' on them late this afternoon.
I'm too stressed to mess around with most of this Internet Junk.
For the next month. I love Aol, Csco, Dell, Lu, At&t.,Ibm and Etek too.
