Defr'd,

I read in the Monday Financial Times that the Japanese Banks were getting an infusion of $US240Billion to cover the reserve requirements. Would this represent a defacto change in Japaneese monetary policy? What percentage of the total reserves is a quarter trillion? I am certain it will hhelp to support the equity valuations; as the banks won't need to sell into a depressed market now.

Underlying is my concern that I am misreading the business cycle, and that we are a lot closer to 27' than 29'!

thanks for your thoughts,

art
