16:31 3DFX INTERACTIVE Q4 NET 13 CENTS VS. NET 15 CENTS YR.
AGO QTR

That's 2 cents below yr ago qtr, but 8 cents above average estimate of $0.05 from Zacks, and higher than the highest estimate of $0.10.

Zack's was showing analyst's guesses as 0,1,5,9,10 for an average of 5. So 13 is good news right? Beating estimates by 8 is good no? Look at it as exceeding estimates by 160% is better perhaps?

Problem is, after today's action the market will probably dive tomorrow on profit taking and TDFX will go down with the ship :o(

It should have been more. TDFX operations look a bit slack to me from their balance sheet. Triple the revenue of the same quarter in 97 and yet only the same bottom line. Cost of goods obviously has to scale up, and it looks like margins are up slightly over last quarter(or is this the effect of that "free" leftover inventory from V2.5?)

But the increase in sales/admin seems excessive (6.9 last Q to 10.8 this Q). They are just shipping more chips to the same set of customers, right? Where did that 3 million bucks go in "sales and admin"?
