Another example of what I term the 'new T'. This company is really getting it together, and I would not be surprised to see it become IBM number 2 as far as future stock performance. Armstrong is a good bet to do 'a Gerstner'....

AT&T, the No. 1 U.S. long distance telephone company, said today it plans to offer
customers a single rate and a single bill for both wireless and traditional wireline
calls.

AT&T said the plan, dubbed AT&T Personal Network, would allow subscribers to use their
cellular and landline phones interchangeably at a rate of 10
cents per minute plus a monthly fee of $29.99.

The single rate would apply to all local and domestic long
distance digital wireless calls made from a wireless home
area. The plan includes voicemail with text messaging and
caller ID.

The rate also applies to long distance calls made from
traditional telephones within the United States and to
Canada, Britain, and border cities in Mexico, as well as
domestic calls made with an AT&T calling card, and
domestic calls made to an AT&T personal 800 number.

AT&T said the plan will be available beginning Jan. 31.

The company will kick off a television ad campaign during the
Super Bowl, which will be played Jan. 31. The ads were developed by FCB Leber Katz
Partners. A print ad campaign will start Feb. 1.
