I am not one bit surprised by these numbers, as I've been saying for the past month and a half that eBay would come in with between $18M and $20M in revenues.

Follow the auction counts, ladies and gentleman, and you'll know much better than the idiot analysts. eBay auction counts were up about 50 percent over the previous quarter. Last quarter, eBay reported $12.9M in revenues. Multiply that by 1.5 and you get $19.35M. What did eBay report? $19.495M.

Also, insiders will not be able to sell until Friday. eBay's announcing the 3:1 stock split will hold up the share price so the insiders can get out with a good number.

Also, you can bet eBay will guide the idiot analysts to some low number for next quarter. Current indications point to $32M in sales for next quarter, but the analysts will probably predict something like $24M.

Anyway, let's not forget the market cap of eBay at about $9B. That's more than a 100:1 Price/Sales ratio, and more than a 700:1 P/E ratio.
