Actually, I put nothing past the brokerage houses. They make big money on stock offerings. That's where the major dollars are, not retail accounts. If you recall, the biggest drag on the brokerage houses late last summer and early fall was the fact that because the then current market looked so bad that many tech companies had put off issuing IPOs.

If Compaq disappoints and there is a bounce, I would use it as an exit point, because I would then be certain of my cynical conjecture.
