Hello Thread, As a long-time stockholder of Ampex, I have become accustomed to nothing happening (as well as excellent commentary here!), so what gives? A plan finally taking shape, warchest being used...I, I feel OPTIMISTIC for a change! Please, don't pinch me if this is a dream! Onward and upward! John R.

Jubimer and Flick - you both were right in many instances. More generally you had an instinct that SOMETHING was up that might enable to translate what AXC has always had into a story that may well have some serious long term legs. And yes Ed, this story sure is more interesting than partial suppression of thermal decay sometime in the distant future.LOL
Too early and airy for self congratulation yet, I know, but while I am dreaming....lemme start off with something kinda basic...lol....this dream compliments of Ed Bramson's tastes <g>

rrab.com

PS my sense of confidence and comfort holding through surges and inevitable pullbacks stems from the general point BA made in his kickass rocknroll post....the story here is not for now about revenues..it is about the direction and development of remarkable potential...and as more aspects of that story surface over time ....each will in its way be good news. Good news can move stocks much as rising revenues and profits always do. Bramson will keep the wolves form the door in the meantime.

A coupler of people have broached the valid subject of Ampex's current cash position after their recent investments in Reiter and TVontheWeb. If I'm not mistaken, at the end of Q3 they still had approximately $61M.

Something which just popped back into my feeble brain, is that Ampex registered a 1.5M share shelf offering almost three years ago. At that time I believe that Ed or Karen may have stated that there was no specific purpose, however they felt it was important to get the registration out of the way in the event Ampex needed additional capital and the share price was right. (I always did like the Price is Right)

IF, and I stress IF, internet mania or a semblance of it latches on to our Ampex, Bramsom may have his source of additional funding readily available:-)

As put so eloquently by Buzz Lightyear: "To infinity & beyooooond!"

jubimer...

combine what gardy said
with your spin along the path
of niche markets a la maritime interests et al.
[ did you scan their "channels"] who might gladly subsidize
special interest broadcasts....
and
you have in your immediate sphere of influence a considerable,
and varied, number of potentially deep pockets.

i really liked that SFE angle alot.....
off to muse,
