Saturn V,

they will not switch computer CPU either.

Retail customers are extremely loyal to Intel. That is why AMD had majority market share last quarter.

"So the moral is that unless the copy protection scheme is acceptable to the paying customers of the software, the copy protection scheme will fail."

The only copy protection scheme that might be acceptable to the consumer would be one where there was a strong economic incentive. Honest people could get a lower cost license fees if they were willing to use a version of the SW that somehow "binds" to the system and its CPU id. The SW suppliers would be happy to allow you to move your license to another system and may even charge a slight transfer fee. SW companies might also charge you a fee lower then the original fee to add the SW to additional systems you may own.

The only way this could become a problem is if one SW supplier was totally dominant, and without choice the consumer may be stuck paying. Maybe this is why utility pricing is not left up to the utility. to install it on

Paris putting chips in trees! Big Brother is watching once again!

They say that the chips in the 90,000 trees are used to assist gardeners, but do you think a task of such an enormous scale would related to something as mundane as gardening? Think of all the eavesdropping that could take place in the Parisian outdoors! This is an affront to global freedom and liberty!

French citizens, I urge you to take to the streets and raise hell over this!
